He’ll sit out team exercises, but it’s a positive step in the right direction.
It is the very first organized on-field work with teammates that the superstar receiver has undertaken since undergoing toe surgery in December. He played only nine games in 2018 compiling 694 yards and six TDs, which was the first season of his profession with fewer than 960 yards.
Entering the final year of his contract, Green is due for an expansion. For now, he is just focusing on this next step into his process. Hopefully, he’ll be full-go by training camp in late July.
“Everybody says it ought to return to normal and it feels good. No setbacks,” Green said. “Nothing. No discomfort after I operate. It just feels great. It’s a fantastic thing. When I finished the season, I would have had to get it fixed anyway. It’s good to get back into the swing and prepare for training camp”
Here are other harms we’re monitoring Tuesday:
1. Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich announced that quarterback Andrew Luck (calf) will not practice this week, meaning the earliest he’ll be on the field is training camp in July. Reich said the movement is more a precautionary measure and the team isn’t concerned. Luck also missed OTAs due to the injury.
2. Philadelphia Eagles running Miles Sanders won’t practice this week through Philly’s mandatory minicamp, trainer Doug Pederson told reporters Tuesday. The rookie, drafted 53rd overall from Penn State, has missed the entire offseason program using a hamstring injury.
3. San Francisco 49ers tackle Mike McGlinchey did not practice because of a minor knee injury. Fellow handle Joe Staley was restricted in practice as he is dealing with a pec strain. Niners tight end Garrett Celek underwent back surgery and is thought to face a two-month recovery. Celek remains in concussion protocol of this 2018 season since Week 16.
